Montenegro's Food Bank has called for stronger support for households struggling to put food on the table. Its president, Marina Medojević, linked the appeal to World Food Day and the international day against poverty, according to Portal Analitika.
The organisation wants more accessible school meals, greater assistance for vulnerable families and a reliable system for donating surplus food. It says food is being discarded along the supply chain while some households lack enough for everyday meals.
Medojević argued that wage increases alone do little for people outside employment. The charity is asking the government for donation rules and incentives that would help safe, edible food reach those who need it. These are proposals from the organisation, rather than newly announced government measures.
