Monaco’s business community is looking to Montenegro for new opportunities. More than 20 companies took part in an economic mission organised by the Monaco Chamber of Commerce, with the aim of strengthening commercial ties and exploring partnerships and investment.
In meetings with the Montenegro Chamber of Commerce, Monegasque representatives heard about an economy with considerable potential in several sectors. Infrastructure, technology, financial services, wealth management and international trade were discussed, alongside opportunities in Montenegro’s agricultural and food industries.
The two countries differ in size, yet both are relatively small economies seeking wider international connections. Montenegro’s use of the euro and its developing financial sector were noted as particularly interesting for Monaco businesses. Investment in marinas and coastal infrastructure also drew attention.
For the entrepreneurs taking part, the mission also meant direct contact with potential clients and local partners. Several representatives said face-to-face meetings open possibilities that are hard to match by email or remote introductions.
The visit fits Monaco’s efforts to help its businesses expand abroad, while giving Montenegro access to new expertise and investment. Both sides said they were optimistic that the links made during the mission could grow into lasting commercial relationships.
